I've always had problem skin (suffered with acne as a teenager) and I still get the occasional flare=up. But I recently saw this post on Reddit about acne treatments that work, and it basically involves using some simple skin care products in a specific order - it's been working very well for me, and it's so much cheaper than Proactiv, or any expensive products that I've had to use before to get any results.
So basically, you just use a gentle cleanser, then use a benzoyl peroxide product (the guide actually recommends Acnezine which is the one I've been using after reading the guide) and then using a moisturizer. I've been using a Clinque one, but I think any works ultimately.
Since I've started doing this about 2 weeks ago, my skin has been a lot smoother, clearer, and any acne flareups have practically disappeared as soon as they arrive. I'm not getting pimples any more (or if I do, they aren't as severe) and it's been working well. I love that I've found such a simple skin care routine that works for my skin, because it's usually such a nightmare! Anyway, just thought I'd share this to anyone who's reading.
